Wandering Website

Just a quick post to let you know that our website is down at the moment because it's on the move. The name will still be the same but we are changing platforms and design. As soon as everything is configured and bedded in, we will be back on line with a brand new look and will now also be accepting payment with PayPal. As with this blog the website is breaking new ground for me, having wrote / designed it, or whatever you do with websites, so when it's back up, please visit, we have a guest book on it so you can leave some comments, just bear in mind that I'm a delicate little flower, so be gentle. I'll post again when we are up and running. I have now finished lesson 1 of 17 in my online social media course and unbelievably scored 30 out of 30, it can't last.

Just as a side note, nothing to do with Acid drops, we had a little localised flooding earlier in the week, a little stream at the end of our road decided with all the rain and not to mention a high tide on the river Crouch, to impersonate a raging torrent. Luckily, having been woken by my neighbour at about midnight,we managed to wake most of the other neighbours so they could get their cars further up the road and we watched the water creep up the road until it luckily stopped about 3 houses down from us. No one suffered any serious flooding, just some soggy garages I think, but with all the pressure on the drains I noticed a new phenomenon in the downstairs toilet. My Mother is working on being the green pine fresh queen of Essex and had diligently squirted the Asda pine fresh cleaner before going to bed. On hearing an ominous gurgling coming from said downstairs toilet    I investigated. The amount of water running into the street drains had forced air  up through the toilet and I was met with a musical bubble fantasy. Pretty opalescent bubbles climbing up the bowl to it's own accompaniment. Who needs Handel when you've got Asda's pine fresh?

Introducing ...... me......again!

I knew it wouldn't be long before I did something stupid and I was right. I've managed to delete the first blog post and there seems to be no way back, so hear we go again.

My name is Karen and I'm one half of Acid Drops & Whatnots and I'll be writing about all things Acid Drops, life and anything else that springs to mind, which with my mind could be interesting. I should probably take this opportunity to apologise in advance, I am a complete technophobe as anyone who knows me can attest, so if I use the wrong punctuation or say the wrong thing please be gentle with me. I have spent the last month building our new website from scratch, yes I did say, 'I did', and unbelievably the internet is still up and running! Wonders will never cease. There's more about the website in the previous post, (the one I posted half an hour ago just before I wiped out the  first one. I hope you're all following this because there will be a test), but what I will say is a very big thank you to the guys at Actinic, especially Andy, who has metaphorically held my hand through the whole project and has given me the confidence to actually try in the first place. Great service guys  couldn't have done it without you. Now all I have to do is take it live as soon as the payment gateways have been installed. That will definitely be a glass of wine day.

I'm going away to lie down in a darkened room now, I'm too old for all this excitement. If you have any questions about our stamps, our shows, or us in general please get in touch, leave a comment, follow us here at the blog or on face book or Twitter.

Sexy Beast

Thought that might get your attention. Just thought I'd give you a sneak peak at the artwork for one of our new releases, aptly called Sexy Beast. Hopefully they will be up on the website shortly.

Which brings me neatly on the next item on the agenda, we will be launching our new look website shortly, I am just adding the finishing touches and then it will go live. During the switch over we will be down for a couple of days so please bear with us. The product pages will have much larger images and there will be coloured versions of the sets as well. We will have an events page, a guest book and a gallery along with links to our blog, facebook and twitter pages. We have started booking some shows for next year and as soon as these are confirmed will add them to our sites.

Completely unrelated to Acid Drops, did any one out there do NaNoWriMo this year? is anybody winning? For the uninitiated, NaNoWriMo  ( nanowrimo.org ), is about  writing a novel, (50 000 words) in a month. It takes place in November, it can be on any subject and you win the challenge if you manage to  make the word count in 30 days. I missed it last year, promised myself I would do it this year but again, life and work got in the way. Although between the magazine articles, the web site, the blog site and the press releases, the class project sheets et al I feel as if I should call it a draw. But enough of my hobbies, back to business, I'm joining an on line course in social media today, wish me luck as I feel I am going to need it. My technophobic instincts are really going through it at the moment not to mention my eyesight but needs must when the devil drives.
